Paul Prescott

After retiring from a lifetime of working in the rail industry, Paul Prescott decided he needed a retirement project to keep himself busy. He was already a keen walker: he runs Callander Ramblers, has climbed most of the Munros and has walked many of the UK’s long distance paths. So nothing could be more natural than to devise a new route which crosses Scotland from Arrochar to St Andrews and neatly fills a gap in the map of Scotland’s long distance walks. He published it first through his own website and later as a printed guidebook.

When he’s not walking, Paul chairs Scottish Autism, one of the larger Scottish charities, and is involved in constructing Scotland’s first community hydro-electric scheme just outside Callander.
