We are proud to announce that our new Cumbria Way guidebook (out in
March) is available to pre-order at a £2 discount. The route goes from
Ulverston, where author Paddy Dillon lives, north to Carlisle over the
summit of High Pike with its superb panorama. As Eric Robson
(broadcaster and author) says in his Foreword: “If there's one walk
that captures the sheer variety of the Lakeland landscape, this is it.”
Following on from their Settle to Carlisle Way map, Harvey Maps just released their Rob Roy Way route map. We offer it to you discounted to £11. Having the whole route on one sheet is much
more convenient, as well as cheaper, than the 4-map Explorer pack that
we used to sell. The Harvey map is at 1:40,000, waterproof and
lightweight and is recommended.
ebooks: are you interested? More free Compeed
We have been slow to move into ebooks, mainly because we designed our
books so carefully to be usable in wind and rain, and to need no
battery, mobile signal nor wifi. But the world has changed, and we
realise that demand exists. We are converting a Rucksack Reader, at
first for Kindle Fire which seems to be the most popular platform. If
you are keen to see also versions for iPad or some other device, please
let us know. Also if there is any specific title that you'd like to buy
from us as an ebook, please
We expect our selling price to be about GBP7, with delivery via Amazon.
We still have packs of Compeed to give away for the first three helpful
or amusing replies.
