We've just uploaded some pages from our forthcoming South Downs Way book: please look inside. Author Fiona Barltrop first hiked the route over 30 years ago, and her photographs here
give you some idea of its appeal. To pre-order the book or ask for a notification email, click here.
New today, please try out our online route map: zoom in to see incredible detail of every inch of the route.
Rob Roy Way and the Challenge
Rotary Club of Stirling just did a sponsored walk on the Rob Roy Way
and we raised over £2350 for End Polio Now and Riding for the Disabled
Association – not bad for a small club with a high average age:) View
the photo and read more here.
On a grander scale, this year's Rob Roy Challenge
is on Saturday 18 June, and will be the sixth year of this 24-hour
bike-and-hike team event which has already raised over £1.8 million for
various charities. Rucksack Readers is pleased to support the event with
mapping from our guidebook
. Although nearly all 750 places are already taken this year, it
will run again in June 2012. There's a video about the 2010 Challenge on
we want to thank you for subscribing with a £2 discount offer that
lasts only for two weeks to the summer solstice on 21 June. To claim
your discount, enter the code solstice at step 2 of the order form.
