Title: Route updates
Post by: Jacquetta on October 29, 2012, 07:58:08 am
Alan Castle just emailed to report a problem on the Inversnaid to Aberfoyle section: Duchray Bridge (at NS462993) is now impassable because Scottish Water are carrying out major upgrades to their pipeline. It would be unsafe to try to wade the fast-moving river or to try to cross the bridge.

Once we have any prediction about how long this will persist, we will post again, but meantime the solution for walkers is to take the right turn for the "long way round" mentioned on page 23, bullet 6 instead of going ahead under the aqueduct.

After 3 km/2 mi this track rejoins the main Way just past Duchray Cottage, see page 24, bullet 3. We will try to persuade Scottish Water to post a notice at the junction so as to alert walkers and avoid the need to backtrack.
