I've had various emails over the past few months with updates from the Way, but not one of them has followed up my request that they post the updates.  So here is a compilation, with thanks to those who supplied the info.  Page numbers refer to our guidebook:
a) Wicklow Way Bus is a new bookable service connecting Rathdrum train station to strategic points on the Way (Tinahely, and also to Laragh, Glendalough and Glenmalure): book it through their website. [Mick Dunbar]
b) A couple of timber footbridges that we mention (on pages 45 and 48) were swept away by meltwater in spring 2010 and had not been replaced by July according to Geraldine Scannell.  Does anybody know if they've been fixed yet?
c) Aine Allen reported many small updates in late September 2010.  Here are the most important:
  • On page 36, the bouldery path in the photo has been washed away, so look out for the (waymarked) right turn about 500 m earlier than the book suggests.
  • On page 43, last bullet, turn left not right (our mistake, so sorry) Shocked
  • On page 52 there's over 125 metres of new boardwalk to replace the steep, muddy path in the photo: Irish Mountain Log has a feature in its Autumn 2010 feature (page 13).  Huge credit to Mountain Meitheal: this will let surrounding vegetation regenerate as well as making life easier for walkers.
She also mentions Lugnaquilla House Hostel which is about 1.5 km from Iron Bridge and opened in 2008.

Many thanks to Mick, Geraldine and Aine. Would anybody who knows of further updates please post them for the benefit of the community?
