Hi there. I'm planning to have a go at climbing Kili later this year. Before I book up, I'd like to know more about how the porters are treated and what questions I should ask the tour operator about porters' wages and conditions.

I have heard horror stories of very low wages, and even of companies that don't feed or clothe them properly. Can this be true? I've also heard conflicting stories about minimum wage levels. If so, what can we as potential clients do to help??
