Important news for anybody walking the Rob Roy Way: the route now goes off-road between Aberfeldy and Grandtully, cutting out 4.5 miles of road slog and taking you along a delightful riverside path and dismantled railway trackbed south of the River Tay.  I walked it recently and have documented it in an upgrade sheet.  To get your free copy, visit http://rucsacs.com/books/rrw/ and download the PDF by clicking the red link (2nd paragraph).

The upgrade sheet also contains a list of minor changes elsewhere and photographs of the fingerpost and new waymarking in Loch Ard forest.

I hope this is helpful to forum users.  Will anybody who uses the path please consider posting here to tell us what you think of it?

The route change is great, a nice change in character as it follows the narrow path close to the river.  We found this day to be overall one of the best of the walk.
